Holiday Cards

After I graduated from college, I told myself that I would design a holiday card every year so that family, friends, and clients could a) feel joy by receiving snail mail and b) get a design and career update from me.

My design aesthetic often alludes to vintage treatments and color palettes, and I always try to play off a few current cultural trends. For example, the last Times card “Hello from The New York Times” was a reference to Adele’s viral “Hello” song of that year (released in 2015).

Each card has a celebratory greeting—with either digital type or custom lettering—and illustrations that relate to the respective brand. I collaborated with illustrator Nicholas Blechman , former Art Director for The New York Times’ Book Review, for this “Snowflake Theory” concept.
